We love the people, but we also love the places!

Last month my blog post focussed on the people, why we do what we do and the amazing community that we are fortunate to be a part of at Square Feet. We spoke about the super-fast internet, the biscuits, the collaboration and even the office dogs that we are so lucky to have working with us!
This month I thought we’d look at the “where”. Where we are lucky enough to do business, where you can go to work, to talk and to thrive.
This week is all about the lovely buildings that we occupy. As you may know we have stunning locations in and around Northamptonshire to base your clinics, your meetings and your permanent offices. They vary from the nearly new, to the very old! All of them have ‘that’ feeling, ‘that’ vibe, the same warmth and welcome although the buildings vary!
Oxford House Northampton
Oxford House (Formally Nine Spring Villa) is a substantial and imposing Victorian Villa. It sits bang slap central in the middle of Northampton’s long established professional and clinical heartland. It’s surrounded by lawyers, medics, accountants and some of the counties longest established clinical practices. It’s imposing position on the corner of Cliftonville and Billing Road makes it one of the most recognisable buildings in the town.
Built in 1860 and remodelled in the early 1900’s, when constructed the building was placed in open countryside with parts of Northampton Infirmary and St Andrew’s Hospital as it’s nearest neighbours. There really wasn’t much here in 1860! The building is Grade II listed and forms the cornerstone of the Billing Road Conservation area.
The picture here shows the original beauty and splendour of the house. I often think of how incredible it must have been with kitchens in the expansive cellars and servants’ quarters in the loft. It would have been a grand house. I’m sure the dinner parties were legendary!
We are thrilled to be here, even though the building is widely believed to be shared with a friendly ghost, the warm welcome and friendly vibe is noticed by all who visit!
Currently the building is arranged as 9 individual office suites and 2 stunning meeting rooms. Our meeting rooms are available for all to hire via our website and can accommodate 2 – 25 people.
24 Billing Road Northampton
24 Billing Road is a lovely early 20th Century building again in the heart of the Billing Road Conservation area. The building hosts 8 individual businesses and is currently fully let with a mixture of clinical and professional companies. We have beauty experts, alternative therapists, designers and marketing gurus amongst others here.
The studios are fully air conditioned, modern and enjoy the same great facilities as we like to include across the estate. Again you’ll notice the warm and friendly buzz when you visit us here at Billing Road.
If you think that cheeky property developers with an eye for maximising the potential of their land is a new thing, think again. The sharp eyed will notice that 24 Billing Road is in fact a cheeky Victorian infill.
All was well on Billing Road until fire struck in the early 1900’s. Close inspection reveals that our building forms a terrace of 3 buildings that sit between 22 and 27 Billing Road. However, when the block was originally built between Victoria Road and Cyril Street it consisted of 2 substantial houses. A left hand and a right-handed pair of buildings that were significantly large in the street scene. When fire struck at least 2/3rds of 22 Billing Road was destroyed and the infill was created that you see today forming 23, 24 and 25 Billing Road.
27 Billing Road was untouched by fire and remains largely unchanged with its towers and fascinating entry from Cyril St.
All that remains of 22 is the left-hand gable of the building, an exact match with the right hand gable of number 27.
Windsor House, Northampton
We were lucky enough this year to secure an interest in the top floor of Windsor House, Cliftonville.
The 2600sq ft space is leased to Square Feet and is fully let as one letting to the Professional Development Department of Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust. We are thrilled to host the hospital’s International Nurse Training programme amongst other training programmes here.
Oak House, Daventry
We love being in Daventry. Oak House is our Daventry HQ!
We are lucky enough to have our Square Feet Head Office based here in Daventry, a super well connected business district surrounded by some of the counties mega-businesses!
The location is more industrial than our central Northampton locations so enjoys quick access to the network of arterial routes to get you anywhere.
The building has been fully refurbished; new roof, new windows, new LED lighting, new heating systems and energy saving hot water systems, obviously we have installed superfast internet as a standard to keep you connected to the web as well as the road network.
We have 7 office suites at Oak House. We are home to a charity, an engineering firm, businesses coaches and of course Square Feet HQ! We have a lecture theatre style meeting space with AV and of course all the quality coffee and biscuits that you could ever need!
